What this site is
Supplement IQ is published by Martin Zielinski from Ontario, Canada. It reads published research on supplements and shows what that research found. It is free to read and it sells nothing.
By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.
What you may do
Read it. Quote it, with attribution and a link back. Link to any page. Use what you learn to have a better conversation with your doctor or pharmacist. Teach from it. Send it to a friend.
You may quote our verdicts and our figures in an article, a video, or a paper, provided you name the source and do not change what they say.
What you may not do
Do not scrape the site in bulk or republish the dataset as your own. The scoring, the claim vocabulary, and the assembled evidence are the product of substantial work and they are what make the site worth reading.
Do not present anything from this site as medical advice, as your own research, or as an endorsement of a product. Do not use it to market a supplement.
Do not attempt to disrupt the site or access anything not published on it.
Accuracy, and its limits
We read published abstracts rather than full papers, and every verdict is current only as of the date printed on its page. Science moves. A supplement that reads solid today can read differently after one large trial.
We can be wrong. Extraction is judgment applied to text, and some of it has been checked by hand and some of it has not; our method page says exactly which and how many. If you find an error, tell us at hello@supplementiq.app and we will correct it. That is the most useful message we receive.
No warranty, and what we are responsible for
The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or harm arising from your use of the site or from anything you did or did not do because of it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Some places do not allow these limits. If you are in one of them, the limits above apply only as far as that law permits.
Who owns what
The writing, the drawings, the scoring method, and the assembled dataset belong to us. The underlying research belongs to the researchers who did it and to their publishers; we link to every paper we use so you can read it at the source.
Quoting with attribution is welcome, as set out above. Anything beyond that needs written permission, which is usually a short email away.
Links to other sites
We link to PubMed and to other outside pages. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what they contain.
Changes, and which law applies
We may change these terms. The date below is the version you are reading, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove protections your own law gives you.
